SILVER DRESS BROOCH OR NECKLACE - MY FAVOURITE DRESS
Each piece of Andrew Logan’s jewellery is a unique work of art and this brooch embodies his joyful vision of the universe. The piece of wearable art was created by Andrew Logan in 2003 for an exhibition at the Textile and Fashion Museum entitled 'My Favourite Dress' - hence the name of this piece. It has been signed and dated by Andrew Logan on the reverse side and is now being released for sale online.
The brooch is three dimensional and uses a flat piece of silver mirror for the base plate with a sculpted mosaic of silver mirror fragments to make the dress. The upper part of the body has been hand-painted in a skin tone and all edges of the brooch are embellished with a generous amount of silver glitter and the addition of six tiny jewel crystals in red and pale blue within the dress.
A safety pin embedded in the black resin at the rear enables you to affix this brooch to your favourite item of clothing, or there is a silver hook at the top of the sculpture to allow it to be hung as a necklace. Its approximate dimensions are 10 by 7 cm at the widest points. It has a depth of around 3 cm and a weight of 60 g. A stunning piece of wearable sculpture which catches the light beautifully.
