"DIP" - TURQUOISE PEARL HEART BROOCH, 2024

Andrew Logan's iconic heart brooches are one of his most loved pieces. Sharing love with every outfit, Andrew hopes this unique heart brings joy wherever it goes.

This unique, sea-blue heart brooch has been created using several stunning pieces of baroque river pearl. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the unusually shaped pearl in the top right corner. It's flowing shape, and opalescent quality continues with a line of baroque river peals that frame the right side of the brooch, and progress half way up the left side. The centre of the heart has been created using several pieces of cyan blue mirrored glass. These pieces have been intentionally cracked; Andrew Logan believes that this to bring good fortune. This piece is so evocative of the sparkling blue sea, sea foam waves, and the promise of treasures on the sea bed beneath.

All of the elements are set into green resin and finished with a sprinkling of turquoise and multicolour glitter. As with all Andrew's brooches, this brooch is signed and dated on the reverse.

This stunning and sparkling piece of wearable art measures just over 8 by 7.5 cm at its widest points and weighs 29 g.  It can be attached to a chosen garment using a safety pin embedded in the resin on the reverse. It would make a beautiful BLUE VALENTINE gift for someone special!
