FLORENCE, 2020
Each piece of Andrew Logan jewellery is a one-off design, handmade by sculptor Andrew Logan and bearing his signature. This brooch was created in 2020 and is named Florence.
This beautiful wearable art piece can be seen in the new Franz Ferdinand video Audacious.
The brooch has been created using a piece of hammered metal with a blue teardrop shaped pattern on it. This is set into a mirrored border in Andrew's trademark style, created by several pieces of royal blue glass, with a unique natural pearl bead in the bottom left corner. In the centre of the piece is a golden cherub charm, bearing a tiny pearl with even tinier blue crystals on it. The cherub is decorated with tiny crystals, and from his ankle hangs a series of three pearl beads. These elements are laid over black resin and dusted with black, blue and silver glitter.
The brooch is backed with black resin which has been signed by Andrew Logan and has a safety pin embedded. This piece of wearable sculpture measures approximately 6.5 by 10 cm at its widest points and weighs 56 g.
FLORENCE has been handmade with joy by Andrew Logan in his studio in mid-Wales.
