"LOVE" PAINTED BLUE HEART BROOCH, 2012
Andrew Logan's iconic heart brooches are one of his most loved pieces. Bringing love to every outfit, Andrew hopes this unique heart brings joy wherever it goes.
This shimmering, sea-inspired heart brooch was created in 2012 and is now available to purchase for the first time.
LOVE is an attention grabbing brooch that embodies Andrew Logan's spirit of joyful adventure, incorporating many treasures from his travels.
The centre of the heart is made up of collaged pieces of glass. A triangle of aquamarine cracked mirror glass is set into turquoise, glittered resin and framed by triangles of clear, mirrored glass, set into white resin. Above these are two pieces of clear glass, which have been set over painted resin, with shimmering turquoise and purple brush strokes, which evoke the sea. The heart is framed at it's edges with a line of different beads and stones from Andrew's travels, including a rectangular jade bead, a facetted turquoise oval stone with shimmering gold leaf, a pale blue marbled stone, several faceted blue square crystals, small turquoise crystals and a selection of blue, glass and marbled beads. In the top right corner of the brooch is an unusual faceted crystal with a concave centre which shines cornflower blue. In the opposite side there is a rectangular vivid ocean blue crystal and a glass bead with a sailing boat image in its centre.
As with all Andrew's brooches, this brooch is signed and dated on the reverse, and titled LOVE. The rear of this brooch is unusual, it has been foiled in silver leaf.
This stunning and sparkling piece of wearable art measures approximately 12 by 9.5 cm at its widest points and weighs 67 g. It can be attached to a chosen garment using a safety pin embedded in the resin on the reverse. It would make a beautiful BLUE VALENTINE gift for someone special!
This piece of wearable art has been created with love by artist Andrew Logan in his studio in Mid-Wales. This brooch will be packaged in a gift box and sent to you via Special Delivery.
