BLUE AND SILVER DIAMOND BROOCH - BLUE DIAMOND, 1997
Each piece of Andrew Logan jewellery is a one-off design, hand-made by Andrew and bearing his signature. This brooch pin was created in 1997 and has been named 'Blue Diamond'.
The brooch was created after one of Andrew Logan's trip to Russia and features the Russian hammer and sickle symbol at its centre, displayed in gold on a blue diamond shaped background with white edging. The diamond is laid over pale resin and surrounded by ten pieces of cracked, silver mirror, nine small, turquoise, glass squares, a round blue, glass bead and a turquoise, oval crystal. The resin is decorated with gold and silver glitter around the edges and the brooch is backed with pale grey coloured resin and has been signed, named and dated by Andrew Logan,
This vintage piece of wearable sculpture and measures approximately 6.5 by 9 cm at its widest point and around 10.5 cm in length. It weighs 30 g and can be secured to any item using the safety pin on the reverse.
